Say, talk about what you love, hate, detest, enjoy doing. Mention about your dreams and wishes too. And remember to always update about yourself, people do get bored. Try to give them in paragraphs. You can add in your web counter if you want too. Keep this long enough to suffice people.

The renovations have started! Well, not before we paid up some money of course. We met up with Henry on Saturday to finalise stuff like where the gas pipes will run, the sizes of the concrete bases for washing machine, fridge and cabinets, how the L-box will look like, where the lightings will be, etc. We have also paid up approximately 40% of the renovations cost.

Prior to meeting up with Henry, we had gone down to Jalan Besar where there were 3 better known shops which sell kitchen sinks and taps. They were Adamas (199/201, Jalan Besar), Poh Joo (159, Jalan Besar) and Hoe Kee (New World Centre). They were all outstanding shops in their own rights and sold different brands of granite sinks which were the kind we were looking for. Eventually, we settled for the German-made Blanco brand of sinks at Hoe Kee. Measuring 880m in depth and 500m wide, the Blanco Metra 9 was made up of a huge side which can hold a wok and a smaller side (see image below). We also got a Kris tap, which was a inverted J and matt in colour. Total damage? $544.

Yesterday, the day was spent at Katong looking for furniture and appliances and at Balestier looking for lights. Nothing caught our eyes at Katong Mall, except that the furniture which the guy proclaim that they were the only ones selling as wholesalers, was also seen at Casa Italy at Macpherson.

The trip to Balestier was more fruitful, in more ways than one of course. Besides suffering from a migraine attack, we also walked away with 24 downlights (13-watters mostly with two 10-watters), a medium-sized kitchen lights and 4 small-sized kitchen lights for the toilets, household shelter and service yard after scouring almost the entire stretch of Balestier. Shop for the day - Chan Huat, renowned for its service, and which was also littered throughout Balestier Road.

Today, I paid a visit to the flat after work. Voila! The entire flat has been covered with corrugated cardboard. And of course, the cement, sand and concrete slabs are in the kitchen already.

As I'll be pretty tied down for the next couple of days, I will next visit on Thursday morning to settle the gas piping and installation of gas water heater by Citygas.
