The renovation works are happening really fast. Two weeks has barely passed and the ceiling and wet works have already completed. The photos below (which were taken on Mon, 5 Feb) are testimonies to the work completed. In fact, as of 10 Feb, the divider wall near the main door have been fully cement screed and completed.
What's left are the kitchen and toilet cabinets and bedroom wardrobes and of course fixing up the lights and painting.

We had our wedding photoshoot at Bintan last weekend, which effectively took up 2 days for us to go scour for furniture. Therefore, we had to make up for lost time this week to search for the elusive sofa, bed frame and dining set.
Yesterday was spent running all around Singapore. We kickstarted the day by visiting Barang Barang at Singapore Post (Paya Lebar). There was an ongoing CNY sale, with certain items going for as cheap as 50% off the retail price. The Winton sofa set caught our eyes, but with the discounted price at slightly over $2,000, we were forced to curb our rash urge to buy the set. We also saw a round dining table made of wood overlaid with dark veneer. The original price is $990 but it was going at 30% discount.
We headed to town for some shopping and remembering that there was a Barang Barang outlet at Marina Square, we dropped by to see if there are items other than those we saw at Singapore Post. Indeed, we found the Manchester sofa set, which was in the colour we wanted! And of course, the price was about $200 cheaper than Winton. Deciding that we'll commit after a visit to
Cellini's head office, we walked out of the place after a short discussion with the Djohan, the sales executive, where we got the dimensions for the Manchester and the Winton.
After visiting our flat, we headed to Serangoon Central, where there's a furniture shop which some forumers in
Renotalk had recommended. However, when we visited, it was just a hole-in-a-wall shop under a HDB block. Half expecting a place with a showroom since the website was quite extensive, there was absolutely nothing to view or sample except some mattresses and probably a few bed frames.
Next, we visited Plaza Singapura, enroute to Chinatown for CNY goodies shopping with my mother-in-law, we visited another Barang Barang outlet, our 3rd in a single day. There was not much difference in products from the other 2 outlets, except that we couldn't find Manchester.
We decided to visit Cellini's head office at Loyang Drive today. Cellini is opened on Sundays from 11am to 8pm. With only the intention to check out the products and prices there, we ended up leaving Cellini with a big smile on our faces and 4 products to our name and of course, $3,300 poorer.
